Det er ganske ironisk å si ”Hei, jeg er Bendik”, også er du en jente, Silje Halstensen for å være helt nøyaktig. Men hva gjør vel det? Det er jo litt in å ha et guttenavn som bandnavn, bare se på Kent og Tim for eksempel.

Stille og sjenert entrer Bendik scenen til brede smil fra publikum. Det er tydelig at hun er en populær jente og et friskt pust inn i den alternative musikken i Bodø, og det med god grunn.

Det er noe som både er urnorsk og unorsk over Bendik på samme tid, en sjanger det er vanskelig å presisere. Med åpningen ”Min Vinter” tenker jeg på band som Animal Collective og Grizzly Bear, som på samme måte lar de rolige og svevende stemmene få flyte fritt i rommet på en kontrollerende måte, uten spesielt mye instrumenter å holde seg fast i. Og det er imponerende, et eget lite kor, også er man bare en person. Jeg kikker opp på scenen, ser noe elektrisk utstyr, men skjønner ikke stort. Det er bare å ta av seg hatten for Bendik som viser stor musikalsk intelligens få i Norge på hennes alder kan vise til. Det må i så fall være Kate Havnevik og Hanne Hukkelberg, men de er jo ikke på hennes alder.

På låtene ”Uten lyd” og ”Syng meg i søvn” får også Bendik med seg Gouranga-vokalist Sigrid Rask Sørensen, som sammen skaper mystisk, stemningsfull og harmonisk musikk, som i mangel av mindre brukte uttrykk blir som balsam for ørene. Bendik avslutter med låten ”Hjerteløs”, som er en leken liten poplåt med keyboard og vokal. Så var det kanskje greit at det bare ble spilt fire låter, det tar seg tross alt dårlig ut å sovne på konsert. Sovne på en god måte naturligvis.
