Denne uka arrangeres Europeisk Mobilitetsuke og Høgskolen i Bodø markerte dette på torsdag. Mobilitetsuka i Bodø er et samarbeid mellom HiBO, Studentsamkipnaden og Studentorganisasjonen. Markedsansvarlig Pål Willumsen mener at dette kan bidra til en bedre verden.

– Vi ønsker å få studentene til å bruke alternativ transportmidler for å komme seg til skolen. I stede for å kjøre bil kan man gå, sykle eller bruke kollektivtransport.

Dersom mennesker lytter til mobilitetsukas råd vil det på lang sikt føre til større utvikling av bytransport samt bedre helsen og livskvaliteten til verdens borgere. De vil med andre ord minske bensinforbruket og heller frigjøre kroppens egen energi.

Veltebil
Et tilbud som vekte mye interesse var veltebilen. Rune Amunsen, fra Statens Vegvesen, stilte opp med en bil som ble snudd oppned. Mange elever satte seg skeptiske inne i bilen for å føle på kroppen hvordan det virkelig kan være å havne i en trafikkulykke. Mens man tester ut bilen får man opplæring i hvordan man skal bruke beltet. Det er kanskje ikke alle som vet at beltet skal sitte nede på hoftene for å ikke forårsake indre skader. Det samme gjelder snurr på beltet, da fungerer beltet som en eggskjærer.

– Alle som har prøvesittet bilen mener at det er lærerikt, og at det fører til ettertanke. Tanken bak veltebilen er at elevene skal kjenne hvordan det er, og for å motivere til økt sikkerhet.

Sykling
Det andre utendørsprosjektet som ble arrangert var en sykkelkonkurranse. Da fikk man låne en sykkel som man skulle kjøre gjennom en løype med kjegler. Syklistene fikk være da være med i trekningen om to sykler.

– Vi håper elevene ser verdien av å sykle til skolen, og at elevene begynner å tenke etter på miljøet, avslutter Willumsen.
